Family return to their chippy - 25 years on
Lyn White and her son, Liam, decided to snap up Carleton Park Fisheries more than two decades after their father, Billy, fried his last cod and chips at the premises.
The shop on Carleton Park Road has since changed hands several times, but Liam, 23, was eager to take it over when it came back on the market.

She said: “Liam wanted to bring the chip shop back into the family and I did not want to see it closed.
“We want to build it back up to where it was when my parents had it.
“My parents had it from 1987 until 1992, I remember because I used to work in here on a Saturday, wrapping for them, but as far as running a business goes we’ve not done it before so my father has come over from Ireland to show him the ropes.

“Liam and my dad are loving it and it’s going well, we’ve had some people come in who recognise my dad from all those years ago.”
