Gathering of greyhounds to inspire adoption
But after life on the race track is over, hundreds of greyhounds sit on waiting lists for adoption each year before finding homes.
The Retired Greyhound Trust charity organised the Northern Greyhound Gathering last weekend in Wakefield to show off the talents of the lovable dogs.

And there were stalls and staff from the charity’s West Yorkshire branch on hand to give would-be owners information about how to adopt.
The free gathering took place at Oakenshaw Grange Boarding Kennels in Crofton.
Visitors were asked to make donations to the charity on the day, which go towards caring for and working to rehome the greyhounds it looks after.
