Pizza franchise heading for Pontefract
A pizza franchise firm is to open a takeaway in Pontefract town centre.
Papa John’s has been given the go-ahead to transform half of the empty property at 14 Cornmarket.
The premises were last used as a charity shop by the Prince of Wales Hospice, but the American fast food giant has successfully applied for a change of use.
However, only half of the unit is to be occupied, with the other half partitioned off to form a second retail unit.
Wakefield Council’s planners felt the plans were appropriate.
